GEOSTEERING ESPECIALIST

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Education: BS Geology, or related sciences. MS degree or higher in Geology or a related science will reduce prerequisite work experience. Experience: 9 years experience in Exploration or Reservoir Characterization. Fluent in spoken English and has good English writing skills.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: The task and responsibilities that the candidate are charged with are in reservoir and field operations, where the candidate will use the knowledge of wire-line, MWD, LWD, specialty, and other logs to guide the drilling operation in all the development wells; vertical, slanted, horizontal and multilateral. Good knowledge of utilizing the computer and related applications to monitor all drilling operations and perform all geosteering duties from Dhahran while in direct communication, remotely, with the directional drilling on the drilling rig through Saudi Aramco's drilling engineers in charge. A wide spectrum of software will be used mostly on the UNIX to perform the task of monitoring and geosteering the wells to include, but not limited to, open works, Geolog, Gocad and other software provided by directional drilling companies to provide real time transfer of log information to the geosteering group in Dhahran. The candidates will also be involved in updating the structural tops and potentially the model based on new information acquired from the drilling operation. The candidates will be interacting with many groups in drilling, reservoir management, and petrophysicists internally within reservoir characterization. Etc., and will be expected to dive a periodic update to the reservoir characterization group on daily an twice a day basis at least. Other tasks can be requested from the candidates in planning prior to drilling a well, and in post-drilling reporting.

Gamma Rays, LWD/MWD and weatherford, Schlumberger or Hallibutrton software, Petrel, Strata Steer, Periscope will be convenienet. Also good knowledge of geological and geophysical software. Must have geosteered at least 14 wells on its own.

Is one year work and two vacations every six months two weeks vacations. There is lodging and transportation paid, married people could bring their family.

JOB TITLE: DRILLING ENGINEERS & DRILLING POSITIONS

3 Rig Mechanic A. Perform the supervisory functions common to the segment level. B. Maintain a vigilant effort to assess the condition of mechanical components during the course of normal operations in conjunction with a proactive, computer generated preventive maintenance program to minimize equipment downtime or unsafe situations. Prepare and maintain up-to-date maintenance records for all rig equipment and schedule work relating to the PM program in the most efficient and least disruptive manner within a specified time-frame dictated by the preventive maintenance program. C. Diagnose and supervise repairs on malfunctioning equipment of all types, including diesel and gasoline engines, rig draw works, power end of mud pumps, air compressors, transmissions, rotary tables, rotary and power swivels and related equipment to ensure continuity of operations. D. Conduct safety and housekeeping checks to ensure proper practices are observed. Advise rig foreman and crew members on the proper care and operation of the equipment in use. E. Supervise, direct and train skilled and semi-skilled craftsmen performing mechanical maintenance, pipefitting, plumbing, welding and building craft activities on the rig or at camp facilities. Establish work priorities, provide drawings or sketches as required, assure safe practices are observed and inspect completed work. F. Carry out on and off the job training programs for employees undergoing mechanical and welder training. Closely supervise trainee activities, evaluate their performance, certify task completion on the skills checklist and identify individuals capable of further development. G. Supervise and monitor hydraulic crane activities and the operators. Assure safe practices are observed and the equipment is properly maintained. H. Perform periodic checks and routine maintenance on water well engines, booster pumps and waterlines serving as the rig water supply. Report major malfunctions and monitor repairs. I. Initiate spare parts and third-party repair requests and verify receipt of materials. Assess requirements and prepare list of spare parts to be catalogued as warehouse stock items for all rig equipment. J. Review and modify existing equipment PM task lists and assist in preparation of new PM task lists for upload into the computerized maintenance program. K. Assist the maintenance planners and material control men in preparation of work orders including labor and parts cost estimates as part of the overall maintenance program. L. Review monthly cost sheets and assess means to reduce expenditures and improve cost effectiveness. M. Actively assist in handling any emergency, which may occur at the rig or at camp facilities. F. Have a minimum of ten years of experience in operating and maintaining diesel/electric rig components and related equipment, including Top Drive. G. Have a working knowledge of other crafts and operations such as welding, pipefitting, crane operations, plumbing carpentry etc. H. Have the capability of reading and understanding mechanical blueprints, equipment spare parts and service manuals. I. Have ability to supervise, motivate, train and coordinate subordinates. J. Be fluent in spoken and written English K. Colloquial Arabic is desirable but not required. L. Familiar with oilfield terminology. M. Have a working knowledge of drilling operation to ensure knowledgeable recommendations/decisions are made to minimize interruption of rig operations. N. Must be willing to work and live in isolated locations under drilling camp conditions. O. Have a valid Saudi driving license or a Saudi Arab government acceptable international license to drive SAUDI ARAMCO vehicles.

4 Rig Electrician A. Provide on-site supervision of Rig Electricians & Trainees to the degree required for the experience level and job skill of the person or persons assigned normally 2 to 4 persons. B. Read and fully comprehend manuals, schematics, blueprints, as built drawings of the rig and all related equipment. Using these skill whenever possible for on-the job training of Rig Electricians and Trainees. C. Monitor the work performance of Rig Electricians & Trainees to insure the work is done properly and all safety regulations are adhered too. D. Liaison with Rig Foreman, Tool pusher, Barge Captain, Rig Mechanic, Drill Crew, and others as required for the proper scheduling of repairs and maintenance work. E. Perform troubleshooting and repairs that could be deemed outside the experience level of on-site Rig Electricians & Trainees. Making use of the troubleshooting and repair instances as opportunities to perform on-the-job training whenever possible. F. Complete on-site work permits, perform pre-job checks and assign maintenance and repair jobs to Rig Electricians as per their individual experience level. G. Perform post-job checks and testing of equipment after repairs. H. Perform daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual inspections and maintenance as set forth in the preventative maintenance program. I. Complete daily electrician's reports, equipment maintenance reports, and preventative maintenance reports, distribute as required. J. Order materials and supplies as required for implementing necessary repairs and maintaining an on-site stock level of expendables and critical spares. a. High School Diploma or G.E.D.

Air conditioning & Refrigeration training curse b. Minimum of 15 years in the electrical field with not less than 10 years experience in the Oil/Gas drilling industry. c. Have an extensive knowledge of all electrical test equipment associated with the electrical maintenance of drilling rigs, i.e. VOM, digital multimeters, oscilloscope, meggers, phase rotation detectors, etc. d. Have a working knowledge of computers with a minimum capability of using Microsoft programs such as word, outlook, and excel. e. Familiar with API, ABS, IEEE, & SOLAS standards. f. Have good leadership skills with the ability to perform on-the-job training for Rig Electricians and Trainees. g. Have the communication skills necessary to submit reports, complete forms and converse with supervisors and management.

5 Rig Safety Advisor A. Perform various safety/operations/maintenance duties on drilling and work over rigs including safety training, operational assistance and technical support on maintenance programs. B. Ensure contractors meet all requirements of contract from safety standpoint, correct any unsafe practices and making sure all rig personnel comply with SAUDI ARAMCO established safety standards and procedures. C. Coordinate safety courses for employees between superintendents of Drilling and Work over training unit. D. Work closely with SAUDI ARAMCO Loss Prevention Department in developing programs and achieving safety goals and objectives. E. Resolve operational and maintenance issues with SAUDI ARAMCO Rig Maintenance Unit. a. BS in Petroleum Engineering or Mechanical Engineering b. Have a minimum of seven years of related experience in rig safety. c. Have a valid certificate in BOP/Well control and other safety related courses. D. Have a valid Saudi driving license or a Saudi Arab government acceptable international license to drive SAUDI ARAMCO vehicles 6 Derrickman A. Load and unload boats and trucks safely. B. Working on rig floor: demonstrate the ability to successfully handle tubulars utilizing the proper equipment and technique, namely air, top drive, rig tongs, chain tongs pipe spinners, iron rough neck, collar clamp, etc. C. Adequately apply safety precautions while testing, logging, etc. D. Perform routine maintenance on rig floor and handling tubular goods: understand and demonstrate the ability to conduct minor repair of rig tongs, chain tongs, pipe slips, collar lamp and pipe elevator. E. Inspect and maintain tubular box and pin connection, dies, nuts, bolts, on drilling equipment for wear and/or damage. F. Perform pump house operation, assist in maintaining/repairing mud pumps and participate in mixing/maintaining drilling fluids. G. Perform under general supervision, minor electrical work, heavy carpentry, metal cutting, pipe filling, machine maintenance and others. A. Have a minimum of four years training on the job and experience as a rig man, including both floor and derrick work. B. Must able to understand work directions in English. C. Familiar with the nomenclature of rotary drilling equipment. D. Must possess physical stamina. E. Have a good sense of balance and coordination to be able to work safely at heights in excess of 100'. F. Willing to perform hard and hazardous work under extreme weather conditions involved in drilling wells and living at isolated well sites.

7 Barge Engineer A. Give work direction to rig mechanics and electricians to operate and maintain all mechanical and electrical systems on board a jack-up drilling rig. B. Report any mechanical or electrical problems to the rig foreman and coordinate with foreman and maintenance people to correct problems and avoid downtime. C. Maintain and operate the jacking system and ensure that equal leg load distribution is maintained at all times. D. Assist rig move master during rig moves, maintains proper ballast, operate jacking controls and monitor preloading operations and ensure that rig is stable and safe before rig operations commence. E. Perform load calculations to ensure that the rig is maintained in a stable condition at all times and advise the rig foreman if a possible overload condition could occur. F. Supervise loading and offloading of materials and equipment to ensure equal weight distribution of the barge. G. Ensure that proper and safe operating procedures for all machinery are followed. H. Maintain inventory of all equipment: supplies and spare parts on board and notify rig foreman of the need to reorder items. I. Ensure that all safety equipment on board is operational and that all personnel are familiar with the operation of this equipment and are trained to react in the event of a hydrocarbon release or fire and are familiar with life boat drills. J. Ensure that records and manuals relating to operation and maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems are kept up to date. K. Ensure that cranes are operational and certificates are up to date and verify that crane operators are licensed and certified. L. Supervise deck crew performing all operations. A. Have a minimum of five years experience as a barge engineer on a jack-up barge. B. Be fluent in spoken and written English.

8 Crane Operator A. Performs daily inspection of assigned crane as per safety and maintenance checklist provided by Crane Operator Certification and Training. B. Enters results of daily crane safety and maintenance checklist into logbook and report any deficiencies. C. Communicates with appointed Signalmen or Supervisor on instructions and signals prior to making the lift. D. Confirms the wind speed at the nearest available site. Wind speed exceeding 30 m.p.h. (48.3 k.p.h.) is unsafe for lifting operations. E. Operates the crane within safe working limits following safe lifting practices as outlines in Crane Operation Manual and instructed by Crane Training. F. Exercises good judgment by refusing lifts which exceed the crane's safe working limits. G. Shuts down and secures the crane properly when leaving it unattended or when completing his work shift. H. Travels crane between the parking area and various work locations. I. Loads and unloads cranes when required to be hauled by transport. J. Attends to all housekeeping functions on his assigned crane. K. Assist in on-the-job training of operators in AJTS Part 1, AJTS Part 2, and OJT Crawler Crane Operator AJTS. L. Provides and logs a lift plan for all critical, Tandom, or pick- and-carry lifts. Completes and logs a special permit for crane suspended personnel platform usage. a. EDUCATION: English - E6B; Math - Industrial MI; completion of rigging and advanced boom attachment speciality course.

b. EXPERIENCE: Minimum of nine (9) years experience in operating all types of basic and advanced mobile hydraulic cranes inclusive of 1800 hours of documented 'accident-free crane operation as Crane Operator II. If job assignment includes operation of Lattice Boom Crane, operator must complete 200 documented hours of Lattice Boom Crane Operation.

c. LICENCE: Valid Saudi Arab Government Heavy Equipment Licence; valid Saudi Arab Government 2X licence.

d. CERTIFICATION: Saudi Aramco specialized Crane Operator certification; Saudi Aramco Lattice Boom Crane Operator Certification, if job assignment includes operation of Lattice Boom Crane. e. LANGUAGE: Ability to receive and understand work directions in English; ability to read and understand load charts in English or Arabic.

9 Liasionman A. Serve as the primary liaison between SAUDI ARAMCO and SAUDI ARAMCO rig Contractor and shall provide supervision of all operations performed on SAUDI ARAMCO wells. B. Provide training and evaluation of SAUDI ARAMCO Liaisonmen/ Toolpusher trainees. C. Make recommendations on alternative methods in resolving defects of equipment when unusual situations are encountered and coordinate timely deliveries of SAUDI ARAMCO and SAUDI ARAMCO Service Company materials and equipment to the well as required. D. Ensure that SAUDI ARAMCO Contractors meet all contract requirements and shall verify and approve all SAUDI ARAMCO contractor and service company operations by way of tour reports and field tickets. E. Ensure that SAUDI ARAMCO Contractors maintain the Rig and Equipment adequately to maximize efficiency and minimize down time, and that SAUDI ARAMCO materials and equipment are properly utilized, handled and stored and report to SAUDI ARAMCO for any misuse by Contractors of these materials and equipment. F. Ensure that all SAUDI ARAMCO safety rules and regulations are followed by SAUDI ARAMCO Contractors and work with Drilling and Workover Engineers to see that modern practices are followed. G. Work closely with Drilling and Workover Services Department personnel as required accomplishing objectives and performing other miscellaneous duties as directed by the Drilling Superintendent. a. BS in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering with seven (7) years of experience in drilling engineering and operations or High School Degree or equivalent with thirteen (13) years experience in Drilling Engineering and Operations. b. Skill and expertise in deviated drilling including short radius horizontal wells. c. Offshore jackup drilling experience with in depth knowledge of top drive units, Measurement While Drilling (MWD) technology and oil base muds. d. Experience in drilling high pressure / high temperature wells as deep as 17,000 feet with heavy mud weights as high as 165 PCF in high H2S concentrations of 20%. e. A current certificate in Blowout Prevention (BOP) and well control. f. Have a valid Saudi driving license or a Saudi Arab Government acceptable international license to drive SAUDI ARAMCO vehicles.

10 Superintendent A. Write drilling, testing, completing, and workover programs for vertical and horizontal oil and high pressure deep gas wells. B. Provide technical field support on all related jobs on the rigs. C. Provide technical advice and guidance for more efficient and cost effective onshore and offshore drilling and workover operations. a. Minimum BS Degree in Petroleum Engineering. b. A minimum of twelve (12) years of experience in drilling engineering and operations. c. Have a current certificate in BOP and well control. d. Have a valid Saudi driving license or a Saudi Arab Government acceptable international license to drive SAUDI ARAMCO vehicles.

11 Petroleum Engr A. Resolve difficult and unusual problems which could otherwise delay drilling progress. B. Make decisions under emergency operating conditions to solve problems and protect rig crew, rig and well. C. Hold meetings to coordinate activities and make frequent inspections to insure operations conform to plans and are being carried out safely, efficiently and economically. D. Receive technical advice from and cooperate and coordinate with drilling and engineering, and review well programs. E. Direct preparation of and review forecasts for manpower, materials and supplies required to operate assigned rigs; order tools, supplies and supporting service; and initiate action to insure stocks are maintained at minimum adequate levels. F. Evaluate efficiency of operations; plan and implement improvements; review drilling programs; and assume direct responsibility for carrying out individual well programs. G. Implement Department's extensive safety program to insure all possible effort is being done to avoid a well blowout which could result in catastrophic loss of personnel and equipment. H. Contact with drilling Contractor to insure the terms of the Contract are met and to safeguard SAUDI ARAMCO interests as to cost and safety. a. BS in Petroleum or Mechanical Engineering. b. A minimum of ten - fifteen (10 - 15) years of experience in drilling engineering and operations. c. Have expertise in all phases of drilling & workover engineering, including but not limited to, drill string design, casing design, drilling fluids, cementing, fishing, wellheads, testing, and completion of vertical and horizontal oil and high pressure deep gas wells. d. Must possess strong analytical and computer skills, and have the ability to perform in depth technical studies related to drilling and workover operations.
